Are you a football or basketball fan? in what is quite a rare occasion, the NBA finals is played at about the same time the World Cup is played in Germany.

For this basketball-crazy nation, it's no doubt basketball that most people are going to be watching soon. But here in Cebu, the World Cup is getting a lot of attention too. A number of hotels and bars are showing World Cup games in large screens.

There are a lot of football converts i notice in Cebu. But i wonder when will we ever send someone to cover a World Cup game. Former Sports editor and Don Bosco football coach Jack Biantan who is now based in London would be the best guy to be given that assignment.
